Emmett is the COO of Business Operations of IKIGAI International, a visionary media asset management and production finance company redefining the landscape of independent film financing. Guided by the Japanese philosophy of IKIGAI, the company emphasizes authenticity, harmony, and sustainability in every facet of its operations.
Before assuming the role of IKIGAI’s COO, Emmett founded PAKKE in 2018, assembling an award-winning team of cinematographers, writers, and designers to create high-quality commercials and advertising campaigns for leading brands in finance, consumer goods, aviation, and nonprofit sectors. These experiences sharpened Emmett's ability to tell nuanced stories across a range of industries.
Through PAKKE, Emmett also executive produced prominent live productions that garnered the attention of major publications, including The Washington Post, NPR, Chicago Tribune, and San Francisco Chronicle. In 2020, when the pandemic halted live programming and corporate business activities, Emmett pivoted to writing unscripted and scripted projects. This new professional direction inspired him to conceptualize Curated Culture, an art-focused documentary series currently in development with an Emmy winning producing team, including Valerie Edwards, Executive Producer of the Emmy nominated feature-length documentary The One and Only Dick Gregory.
Emmett brings nearly a decade of experience, pre-dating PAKKE, serving in associate and managerial roles at top Fortune 500 companies and innovative startups. Mentored by some of the most esteemed leaders in the tech, renewable energy, and supply chain sectors, he developed critical business skills and principles that he seamlessly translated into the film industry.
Emmett’s business acumen and unique storytelling perspective will be integral to shaping IKIGAI’s strategic and operational direction and driving the company’s mission to support the next generation of filmmakers and create impactful narratives that resonate with global audiences.
Beyond filmmaking, Emmett is passionate about supporting the growth and development of emerging creative talent and elevating diverse voices within the film industry. He is the visionary behind the annual District Dreamers Film Festival. The festival is a budding showcase for local filmmakers that provides them with a platform for sharing their powerful stories through the lens of short films while offering educational opportunities for aspiring filmmakers.
